DNS Server Fingeprinting Tool
DNSFP is a program which identifies DNS server version at a distance. It works on the principle of comparison series of borderline DNS requests sent by the program with a chart of responses and server versions. Fake and wrong versions may be revealed when trying to recognize a group of servers dwelling behind a load-balancing apparatus, where all the servers belong to various implementations, when a peculiar implementation acts as a dispatcher, behind a firewall skipping stateful review or Application Intelligence.
